Better be a digital girl

I was invited to talk about Science in the Flemish TV program 'De zevende dag' with Jasna Rok and Damya Tortue.

First workshop about MIT app inventor for gorls at Coderdojo Bornem! I had a lot of fun helping the girls and I think they liked it to. Here a couple of photos.

I gave a workshop Scratch at the Girl Tech Fest in Brussels. I was also invited at Radio 1 to speak about the Girl Tech Fest event in the program Bonus. Radio 1 Bonus we discussed about: Why is it so difficult to get girls in technology? And above all: what can you do? 12 (!) year-old Manon Van Hoorebeke is European Digital Girl 2014. Her mother Ilse Bracke works also in IT. They believe that technology and computers indeed are interesting for girls, they explain it in a duo talk in Bonus.      

On 25-26 April 2016 I was invited as speaker for the 'Lightening Talks'. Getting and keping girls & women in Tech workshop: Digital girl of the year speaking!

  On 10 March 2016 I took part in UNESCO’s flagship ICT in education event Mobile Learning Week as part of a panel discussing Improving Pedagogy and the relevance of learning.       After the panel discussion I also gave an interview. On 21th Octobre I went to Lissabon where I was invited by de European Community to speak at ICT2015 conference. It was the first time I was in Lissabon. I spoke about my experience as European Digital Girl and participated to a speed mentoring for girls also talking about the importance about more technology in education. My trip was possible with the help of Coderdojo Belgium - Thank you for this opportunity.  

On the 7th of october I was invited to speak to Paris at the Lady Pitch Night. I was very glad I could speak at this event of Girl in Tech (GIT Paris). I saw a lot of new amazing startups. Thank you Roxanne Varza  & GIT Paris for the invitation to this great event.

Visit to the cabinet of Hilde Crevits to express my thoughts about tech in schools. It was great talking to her. To be continued ....

Today I participated to the first MegaDojo where more than 1.000 kids learned to code. It was an amazing experience - there also was a techshow and a tech hangout. You can watch the video on you tube.

Tonight I went to the opening ceremony for the 2015 European Ada Awards. This was part of the Girls in ICT Day. I talked about my experience as European Digital Girl 2014 thelast 6 months and how I feel about it. On 9 March in Brussels, the Digital Leadership Institute and 150 of its closest friends and supporters celebrated International Women’s Day with the grand opening of  DLI ‘s  Digital Innovation Centre for Girls & Women, a first of its kind in Europe!  This very special occasion was marked with fun, hands-on digital activities for all ages ,  a high-level roundtable with Brussels, Belgian and European stakeholders, and a reception for all in attendance. Today I was invited to speach at TedXGhentSalon to talk about girls in STEM. I talked about how I got interested in Technology and STEM. I was very impressed that I was invited to speach.
